Introduction to STATISTICA.  This is a One-Day course structured for new users of STATISTICA,  to familiarize you with the inner workings of the package and is also an excellent refresher course. 

Presented on  Monday 13 February 2006  by Anni Russell,  Managing Director, StatSoft SA.

      Objectives 

  • To provide users with an understanding of the general conventions, data management, and graphics capabilities of STATISTICA.
  • To offer users hands-on instruction in data management, working with documents and reports and creating and customizing graphs.
  • To expose participants to the graphical methods available for exploring data and supporting statistical analysis.
  • Expert tips on how to optimize the use of STATISTICA will be shared.

Description

This course is designed to instruct the student on how to take advantage of the numerous statistical and graphical tools available in STATISTICA. Step-by-step examples will be given on how to enter and manipulate data (including importing from other file formats such as spreadsheets), perform statistical analyses and use the output documents and graphical results. The user will be advised on how to optimize the use of STATISTICA. The final part of the course will be devoted to questions of users.

ABOUT DR. LAUBSCHER

Dr.Laubscher holds a D.Sc and is a consulting Market Specialist in Data Mining, Statistical Process Control & Design of Experiments, as well as specializing in relational database design, data storage and analysis of large data sets. Dr.Laubscher’s peer-reviewed papers, which arose as practical problems at customers, have been published in the S.A. Statistical Journal. Dr. Laubscher has served several large blue-chip customers throughout Southern Africa with distinction.

 

The Workshop Series consists of an initial 2 day Workshop to familiarize attendees with the basis Data Mining Principles, with a second 2 day Workshop 1 week later to work Hands-on applying these principles using STATISTICA Data Miner.
