In a recent announcement by StatSoft Scandinavia AB, the Swedish Intensive Care Register (SIR) named STATISTICA its main statistical tool for accessing and analyzing centrally stored data. SIR is a non-profit organization that simplifies the follow-up of intensive care at two-thirds of the intensive care wards in Sweden. The announcement means that clinics connected with SIR will now get access to the comprehensive statistical analysis tools in STATISTICA via the Internet (see WebSTATISTICA). SIR chose STATISTICA over a variety of other packages for its user-friendly interface, wide selection of basic and advanced statistical tools, and facilities for Internet enablement.
StatSoft's WebSTATISTICA Server is a general, virtually platform-independent, Web-enablement environment for all other STATISTICA applications. This ultimate enterprise system offers the ability to run all STATISTICA applications interactively or in batch from a Web browser on any computer (including Linux, UNIX), and offload time consuming tasks to the servers (using super-computer-like distributed/parallel processing), integrate with databases, manage projects over the Web, and collaborate "across the hall or across continents." A custom Web-application development kit is also available.
